We southerners love our food, and we have invented, concocted and conspired to create some of the most innovative ways of preparing it known to man. None, however, is more enshrined in southern culture and known as widely throughout the world as, good ol', southern fried. Southern fried anything! To a southerner, if it can be bought, caught, cleaned and cooked, it can be fried. And to prove it, we've tried it all. From catfish to cauliflower, peanuts to pickles, even Snickers' bars and ice cream. Heart attacks, high blood pressure, be damned. Cholesterol can be your friend. A country boy can survive, and a southerner can survive off of whatever covers their plate, as long as it's fried.
